Best of the New Old-Skool

While '80s Citadel minis drive my painting & collecting, I like to take a break & look around for other manufacturers who capture that vintage spirit. One that I have been watching for awhile has recently taken it to the next level on kickstarter & definitely has some retro-esque offerings.

Warploque Miniatures has some amazing stuff on the way. While the earlier work was all in resin, it looks like 'eavy metal is the future. Check out the 'Lingers with sheep & the Cocklegriff!

Any other good neo-retro finds out there?

there are a few threads on this subject (in the sticky to begin with) but may be a general sum-up could be a good thing.
Anway http://www.bederken.com/ form the famous Dave King is the closest thing you'll get to oldschool chaos dwarves.

Agreed! Both Clam and White Knight have ranges inspired by classic miniatures (if you think marauder is classic anyway...which it is :) ).

I have bought I to both ranges rather extensively...

How about Otherworld Miniatures? Super dungeon adventuring types :)

I really like the look of their figures and the style they achieve...but they seem very small compared to citadel figs. I bought into the kickstarter but sold my figures on to someone else because of their size. YMMV.

True in part, their beasties are all fine though. I have some of the Paul Muller undead and they're definitely slender against Citadel.

Otherworld does have a nice range with a variety of styles. Most of their stuff is styled after D&D art, but there are definitely crossovers.
Their hobgobs match up well with Citadel's older AD&D line & I like the Bugbears. The Kobolds are inspiring enough to make me want an army of the little zoggers.
