Because Tzeentch compels me

Yes that's right - Tzeentch compels me to do his dark bidding, to ignore my worldy duties and sit in solitude in worship of his evil unthathonable schemes.

Since my move to Australia from Uk I have not posted on oldhammer, but im back in hobby mode again.
I have never collected a chaos army before and the only god I am really interested in is ' the changer of the ways'
I play 40k and aquired some thousand sons recently. I am playing in a 40k paint and grow league, escalating from 500 to 1500 points. I am starting with a Chaos space maine list but progressing to daemons (through summoning them)

Thousand sons - I wanted to move away from the conventional blue. I really like the pre heresy colours but didnt want to go down that route either. Instead I have found a middle ground, the idea being that the marines are visibly afflicted by the Tzeentch whilst retaining their origional reddish armor colour. I am really quite pleased with the results, it took a few attempts to get this project off the ground.

You should have a go at doing a war-band from realm of chaos
THey are a great way to do a model making challenge. You get a champion (you can pick to start with a marine renagade) plus his followers. You will end up with the equivelent of an inquisitor and his retinue. A Dark Inquisitor, fallen to chaos, with his beast men, dwarves in power armour and such like. You could field it as an inquisitor warband.

I quite like doing "Dark" versions of lists, so using normal marines but picking them from the chaos marine list, or visa versa. You can pick a loyalist force then just use your chaos models, so when you add the inquisitor band they are "battle brothers" or whatever the modern 40k name is..

This is always a cool themed force to put into your army, and also to play Realm of Chaos and other skirmish games. It also gives you a force of models as objectives, scenario characters etc.

Thanks for the reply Ramshackle. Part of my idea was to incorporate these with an existing loyalist/Iron hands/mecanicum army I painted in the same dark Red - this would allow me to access a much larger force which looks quite dark and chaosy if required
