Because I'm an Idiot: Miniature Advent Calendar?

^_^ that's fine. I think the odd multi-part is fine. things like Lego do the odd ones like that, and there are the kit builds like I said before. Still thinking of possible ideas ^_^

A larger multipart model would be a good way of using up some days and keeping costs down I imagine.

A kickstarter does sound like a good way of doing it, essentially you're just doing a presale really - which for something that "sounds like a neat idea", but we're not 100% is probably a much safer bet than Fimm Towers having boxes and boxes of lead calendars to eat* for the next few years.

Dang, now I'm wondering if anyone has ever made edible miniatures out of chocolate or anything... I remember some jelly horror monsters from my childhood, but standup 28mm minis - nothing springs to mind :)

I've seen Eatable Monopoly sets where the player pieces and houses etc are chocolate.. and I'm pretty sure you can use most Easter chocolate rabbits / Christmas father Christmas' or.. I think some cheap shops did a Halloween witch (with bunny ears...) before.., as Golems or Totems or some kinda ^_^

come to think of it.. edible soldiers is bad if you have anyone who can cast a resurrection spell..

I think maybe a Fantasy theme more then Sci-fi.. and atleast one of the figures should be Christmas/winter themed.. Maybe Lussi as a figure? (Norwegian folklore.. Having Norwegian friends into such stuff can be interesting). With her elves and fairies and the like, she rides about causing trouble while hating lazy and naughty humans, so if Kids have misbehaved or humans haven't completed their winter tasks like gathering fire wood, she could kidnap you as part of her wild hunt.. mmm.. might make a nice scenario or two there..

Nice idea. IMO, the whole calendar should be winter or Christmas themed. Having a coherent set as the basis for a game is also a good idea, I think. So, for example, Krampus as the the big bad plus a few antlered wild men supporting him and assorted villagers including some sort of holy man. Chuck in an Oldhammer 2nd edition type scenario and you’re good.

I knew I'd seen something knocking around in the back of my mind about molding models out of other things... in this case it was a playdoh type putty, but I did think at the time - wonder if you could do that with food... anyhow for the curious: https://necromolds.com I didn't back the KS in the end, but it did look rather cool.

I do like the idea of a little winter scenario. Maybe have the back of the box as a board and perhaps if you're being super frugal have the doors to each 'treat' as the scenery stand-ups that can be cut off and fixed to the board. Villagers have to battle Krampus to retrieve the presents before Christmas Day ends? (thinking the sun tracker in DungeonQuest was always a neat idea).
