Bugbear and Gnoll had a long old acetone bath, but that enamel paint didn’t all want to come off… anyway happy enough to work with, so have them based up and ready for priming.

Do have BC1, but that was my brother’s so don’t have the same attachment to it (plus pretty sure there are a few missing from that set too!!). ;)
Let me check!!

Looks good, even better on that six sided wonder base ;)
I do like the flagstone bases you've done on these.

The Gnoll was chewing on the bit and is now finished too! :)

Am pretty pleased with how this one came out. Another great Jez Goodwin sculpt with fine detail and textures.
Have to admit not having a clue what these critters were back in the day having not played D&D (still haven’t!!), they were subsumed into the ranks of beastmen at one point, but will now patrol the dark dungeons they were intended for! ;)

Those semi-integrated bases on the critters are a little awkward to merge with tiles. Think will need to add a bit more base texture around the edges?

The details are too delicate on the beetles legs to cut around them. I did file under the minis to make them sit flatter, but don’t want to cut them back further… Think I will stick with the initial plan and see how they look after a prime coat.

It's a dungeon dilemma. Personally. I wouldn't worry about it too much and would base some things on flagstones and others like they were on cave floors, rubble or scree. As long as your palette is similar, it shouldn't be too glaring.

I tend to use a flat electric belt sander and make the base as thin as I can get away with. You can also do it with some sandpaper on a flat surface and just rub the base away but that obviously takes longer.
