Asslessman's WHFB gallery

Ok, I'm diving in and start my gallery here. Most of what you'll see has been published in the blog but I believe displaying it here is more confortable and I'll probably take better pictures and arrange things a bit. Plus this thread will display only the oldschool models I have.

To start this gallery, here are my beloved snakemen. The sculpts are marvellous and it was a real joy to paint them up. You'll note one of them has had a wepon swap with a modern chaos amrauder but I find it worked for the best. Since I never could find any rules for these lads, I based them on 40mm bases because placing them on 25mm bases would have been to much pain.

Re: Asslessman's WHFB Chaos gallery

Woah, they are something else.

I think these have got to be some of the best WHFB minis of all...well done.

Re: Asslessman's WHFB Chaos gallery

Those snakemen are really cool minis !
And you painted them well too. Hope to see more of your chaos soon !

Re: Asslessman's WHFB Chaos gallery

Thanks guys ! These really are great models unexpectedely very detailed. A pure dilight for both the collector and painter in me.
I'll take so time this week end to make group shots of sorcerors, familiars, champions, warriors and a few other weird things.

Give me! I'm a sucker for Kaleb even though I don't yet own one :(

Re: Asslessman's WHFB Chaos gallery

Those are the best painted snakemen I have ever seen. Bravo!

I'm actually building a 8thed version of him with plastic part (heresy yeah I know...), you can have the recipe if you want, (just look in my blog), he's actually getting paint on him atm.

Forget the snakemen - Now that's what I call Oldhammer!

Well, technically the snakemen are waaaaay more oldhammery than Kaleband his bluesy foes... ;)

Oh I believe it's only because there are very few pictures of painted one available but thank you very much. Goblin Lee is painting some these days (24 of them, how does he manage to get 24 of them seriously?  )

Re: Asslessman's WHFB Chaos gallery

Great figures. Kaleb is fantastic, but the red & black striped snakeman stands out for me. Love them!

I reckon he knocks them off in a hidden casting room built in a shed at the bottom of his garden, run with clones built from the hairs of foundry workers. Or he bought loads of great lead when he had the chance. Or, even better, he is a super rich celeb blowing his millions on lead. Perhaps he's really Terry Wogan? Or Madonna?

My vote is that he's really Graham Norton! heheh

Re: Asslessman's WHFB Chaos gallery

To my shame Id actually never seen Snakemen before

Thulsa Doom eat your heart out!

Like Axiom said, the red and black one is a standout.

Re: Asslessman's WHFB Chaos gallery

FRom the whole chaos range, I have to say Chao ssorcerors and their familiars are one of my all time favorites. I gave each sorceror a familiar and tried to give them the best fitting. The green sorceror casting a spell is supposed to be finished but it is far too plain to my liking, I think I'll come back to him in a near future to add some crazy freehands and checkers or flames to liven him up a bit. A lot more sorcerors are waiting for some paint or photos but I don't want to spoil everything now ;)

Some sorcerors :

Re: Asslessman's WHFB Chaos gallery

Fantastic, I love them! Great idea with the team-ups, the choices and matching paint jobs are spot on!

Re: Asslessman's WHFB Chaos gallery

Apart from th elast one from Alex Hedstrom, the first ones are Jes Goodwin as as always his minis are such a joy to paint. I'ce considered the quetsion but don't remember ever seeing anything painted from him. That has always seemed strane to me because he definitely is the most painter-friendly of sculptors. Some greta sculptors like Tom Meier or Bob Olley sometime come up with impossible to paint textures or details but Jes'ones always hae the good balance (as the Perry's for that matter). It's just a personnal opinion though.
Glad you loved the paintjobs, I tend to to paint the a little more realistic than the usual "Realm of chaos crazyness" which sometimes work well and sometimes less...

Re: Asslessman's WHFB Chaos gallery

I love the guy with the scythe. That was one of my first ever chaos models back in the day - I painted him purple, then subsequently cut his legs off to mount on a chaos centaur (that was what he rolled as his steed). Happy days!

Really great painting. My favourite pairing are the two jester themed figures. They look great with the twinned masks!

Re: Asslessman's WHFB Chaos gallery

The chaos sorcerers are superb. You really are spoilt for choice with the realm of chaos miniatures.

Re: Asslessman's WHFB Chaos gallery

Sorcerers are great bit I love those snakemen and a great job on Kaleb.
