Arms... Im 'armless!

Gents...

I want to get some arms for my Space Orks to replace those awful 80s/90s plastic things... Does anyone know if ones like Kromlech would fit for example?

Im also looking for suitable arms to fit on to Imperial Guard, Confrontation and Titan Princep figures... I have seen a recommendation for Victoria Miniatures arms as fitting well.

Any thoughts?

Can't say about Kromlech ones but Victoria ones work wonders for humans, you can also check Blight wheels too an dof course many current GW imperial guard will fit just nicely with those models.

A tad big for most of the range, quite OK if you like muscle on the bigger models :

I have struggled with this. I used to use the modern ork arms, but found them too large often (though on larger orks, these sometimes work well). I have gravitated back towards the original "period" arms, even though they are sometimes too weedy.
So I'm also interested in any suggestions that come up.

I suspect kromlech arms scale with modern orks. I've used kromlech parts and found that they scale nicely with contemporary models, and been very pleased with the results. But I've never tried the arms.

If I can tag along on your original question, what are some alternatives to the original squat arms? As awkward as the ork arms can be, I personally find the squat arms exceptionally terrible.

What is it people don't like about the original arms? If it's just availability one set of working arms are salvageable from the 2nd ed boxed set orks which last I looked people couldn't even give away.

If people hate the arms I'd be happy to take them off you.

The original imp guard arms have the virtue of being a good size for the models, although the detail is a bit basic. For some of the character models and for my fourth generation stealer hybrid i have used some spare weapons which came with Heresy gangers. These have the advantage of having nicely sculpted hands attached. Also, just cutting the hands off and pinning them back twisted slightly can be useful- i am thinking of the left hands which are designed for a lasgun, if the hand is rotated it makes a nice free hand.

With the orks, i guess it must vary from one mini to another. I have some stormboys, smaller than the orks that Asslessman posted. And even the original ork arms are too big for mine, never mind the newer ones. How are the second edition arms in terms of size? It is half a lifetime since i last saw one of those up close.

Interesting that people are recommending Victoria minis as compatible. I had the feeling they were more chunky like newer GW stuff, but maybe not? I find that the current GW guard arms are a bit too big for my liking, but the heads are a nice size. A weakness of the old copplestone IG is that the plastic heads were too large compared to the metal ones.
I have a geneateaer hybrid who has the strength chaos attribute. I gave him an arm from a modern catachan trooper, because it is truly a herculean arm.

I'm a complete Vic Minis convert. I hate the limited poses and low detail on the original IG arms. Here's a few photos of some of the stuff I've used them on:

I find they fit perfectly, and look far better.

How about using something that was an intermediate stage in the development of the modern ork so that you can get "brutal" without the steroid injected look? I'm quite partial to the Gorkamorka plastic ork boys myself, though the arms may also be a touch too small for your liking.
