So what does the forum think of this then? He is Snaplimb Lusthowl and has been sculpted by Drew Williams. Drew is working on several other models for the range too. What are your thoughts and opinions?

To be honest I'm not too fond of the giant shoulder pads. They look fine for games like Warzone and Chronopia but look a bit odd on a warhammer inspired miniature.

Otherwise it's a really nice sculpt with buckets of character.

All the best!

Agree wit hthe consensus the shoulderpads are a bit OTT - scale them down to a more dark-elf size and they'd work.

The decoration on the armour looks a bit too chunky to me, like it should be smoothed out a bit so it reads as decorated plate armour rather than baroque ironwork. - this would help tie in the boots to the overall design, at the moment they stick out as far too much of a contrast.

Ear looks unfinished, especially in comparison to the finely detailed face.

At least the weapons are not suffering gigantism this time.. I prefer it to the first one but agree with the shoulder pads being a bit large and the ear looks a bit plain compared to the face.

like the others, shoulderpads are a littel too big for my taste. Head and mutated claw look fine and as MD said the weapon is just the right size.
I'm always frightened to see too much textures on a model with no flat surface but I know from painting some Bob Olley oldschool goodies (love the wrinkles) it sometimes just doesn't get in the way.
Maybe some more suggested details (faces on the armour plates) rather than finely carved as they are would be better with a few flat surfaces (the boots stand out because they're the only unmutated part of the model).
That being said the concept is superb and the sculpting top notch, it's just the average painter in me worrying a bit when he'll have to paint them ;) ).

Maybe a trick of perspective of the photo but his feet and ankles look small and the claw arm so huge it's drawing my eye away from the entire figure.

I do like his head and the armour but have to agree with other comments about the shoulder pads being oversized for the model.

The only other thing which is a personal preference was that I was hoping all these miniatures would be single cast pieces but the sword hand clearly shows it won't be.

I really admire the work on the armour. Lots of detail, and looks relatively easy to paint and even add some effects. It is slender enough to suggest it might be melded to his body.

I think the shoulder pads could be cut down by half (where the inner plate ends, really) and the claw is much too big for my tastes.

Granted, the larger picture compared to the actual miniature in hand will be totally different!

I do like it for the most part, and Drew Williams is an accomplished sculptor (certainly better than me!) but I think the extreme shoulders and claw make it look akin to more modern sculpts rather than the old school flavour I think is trying to be portrayed.

It is still cool, though, and I would love to have one.

Ditto on shoulder pad size. Love the face and claw. I always find it difficult to judge perspective on pics like this, more so when I'm looking at greens. It would be nice to see this guy and the last lined up with old Jes Goodwin sculpts to get a better idea of scale/perspective.

I'd actually like to see him with no shoulder pads at all.

agreed.
The breastplate section almost seems 'stretched' compared to the other armour pieces.
Otherwise, he's very nice indeed, I'm really looking forward to seeing more.

Really like model. Loads of character - the armour detail and face look great.

I have no issue with the shoulder pads, but I think the claw is too big. While it looks nice, would have liked to have seen it about half the size.

Would still buy it as is though.

Claw arm is way too big for me. Its pretty much the length of the rest of him head to toe. No wonder he has it up in the air, it would drag on the ground if he lowered it.

Plus this model just doesn't have the old school citadel feel of the first. I can't put my finger on what it is, it's just missing something.

The sculpting is AMAZING...the detail is SUPERB! the Adherence to the Concept art is PERFECT! I think the face is wonderful and particularly like his horns.

...and yet its just not what I'm looking for in a chaos warrior. I have a strong preference for the "smooth" heavy armor and faceless helmets of the "generic" Chaos Warriors of the Oldhammer period....personified by Slambo and his compatriots. And while some mutations are great for RoC characters I don't prefer them for my Chaos warriors for WFB....just my preference.

Again...I have nothing but huge respect for the project and the work being produced...it just doesn't fit my vision of what Chaos Warriors are like...

...I'm sure its just me...

Cheers,

Blue

Hi!

As Blue said, I do prefer the smoother, heavy plate of the classic Chaos Warrior but these mutated chaps could look amazing once painted.

I do think that the detail may be a bit daunting initially though...

As for the clay, it looks suitably big and chunky but is perhaps a tad larger than the concept art would suggest.

All the best!

His right foot looks rather small... but I suppose that could be a mutation. =)

His right foot does look oddly small. I can take or leave the shoulder pads, but overall another lovely model.

Keep them coming!

Love the armour, thats the sort of thing I am looking for. It is true that it does contrast a bit with the boots- parhaps woyuld look good if he had some crazy metal boots in the style of the armour.

Shoulder pads and claw do look a bit gigantic to me, but as someone said, the chaos gods are a fickle lot, as evidenced by the overgrown body part x4 chaos attribute, for example.

In general I am a fan of this project.
