The gobbo in the middle got me to start dry brushing properly when I saw it in my buddies Orc and goblin army BITD.

Great stuff here. Those dwarfs look like proper ones

Thanks! I never even realized he was a night goblin until I decided to collect them all. Now, I can only say I love that model!

Nice Dark Elves, those skin shields are inspired!

Thanks! I Spent two months walking around with a to-do list for them just so I wouldn't forget. It's not often I have a good idea.

Went to clean the last of stuff out of my parents' house the other weekend and I found this guy:

He was one of the first warhammer models I ever painted. So covered in dust now!

Really like the blue dark elf skin tones. Tempted to start painting mine that way (and a Dettol bath for what I have painted).

Thanks, I spent way more time than was healthy thinking about what color to do their skin do I wouldn't have to strip any. Problem is, they look good with all kinds of skin tones :D

Okay, they're not strictly oldhammer, but I figured some Foundry Norse painted up for Saga are pretty darn close. So here they are anyway :D

I like the purple pants. They look quite manly when combined with an axe, sword, and bear pelt.

What did you use for the snow effects on the bases?

Woodland Scenics Snow mixed with gloss varnish, about three layers. Then another coat of gloss varnish after the whole model is varnished. I wanted it to look wet and old, like it was just the end of winter. You can also use water effects instead of Gloss Varnish to get the same effect.

Very nice work throughout Andrew! Those dark elves are and dwarves something special. Even your first Warhammer painted mini is well executed. :)

Thanks! Although he was one of my first, not my first. They were a blister pack of marauder dwarfs that shark never see the light of day ;)

Here's a couple of more Oldhammer Dark Elves:

I'm still working out some things with the new camera, so I apologize that the focus isn't great (and that the Dark Elves look dusty!). I ended up making the banner extra dirty because Nico's looked so good that way...and also to hide my horrendous attempt at freehand!
