Seriously, follow the link. I got an error message when I tried to upload a screen capture from my phone. But this ripped fifty-three year old gentleman on the right is proudly sporting some space ork pride.

Anthony Vercchia, congratulations on getting in this article with your space ork tattoo. And for being ridiculously fit. If you are a member of our forum identify yourself so we can applaud you. Seriously.
 
I don't think he's an Evil Sun.
Apart from it being a different design altogether it doesn't have the chequer board around the edge.
The Sun face and the Moon face for that matter were around years before Evil Sunz and Bad Moons.

I've not seen a similar design in different contexts, but perhaps that's just because I'm a Philistine . . .
 
I remeber my mate borrowed my WHFRP book and got a grinning sun on his shoulder, I thought it was kind of cool in a dumb sort of way at the time. He'd be about 39 now not 50+ so it's not him.

Anyway point being this grinning sun had no checks.
 
My wife was showing me a movie of that first guy dancing and telling me how handsome he was. After this she wants me to invite him for a game of warhammer. I believe I need to have a good talk with her.
 
I was just looking through WHFRP1E and I noticed this:

Which reminded me of this thread, because not all "evil sun" imagery has the checkerboard pattern. Not that this proves anything either way -- just an observation.
