All the nice elves love a sailor

I thought I'd put up my old High Elf and Dark Elf fleets from Man O' War... Now long since sold on. I needed the money :(

The last ones remained unfinished. These had to have been amongst the fiddliest things I've built, what with the masts and sailes.

Nice - as a fledgling Dark Elf Admiral I'm liking the Black Arc and Doom Reavers. Mine are painted but never seen action - something that needs remedying!

Hope you got a good price.

It was probably worth it at the time, but I have no idea now! Man O' War was probably my favourite of all the GW games.

I would imagine so - just know there's some crazy prices out there having tried to build up a fleet through ebay.

It looks like so much fun - so need to get a game organised!

Might need to repaint my WW1 Camo inspired Dwarf fleet though - seemed a good idea when I painted them...

Those dwarfs look awesome, very refreshingly different!

I had my first proper game of man o war a couple of weeks ago, my elves vs a dwarf fleet. We were both learning, so mistakes were made, but my hawkships were the stand-outs of the match, with their high maneuverability and relatively heavy armaments... I took out his flagship with the first two shots of the game in a lucky chains of flukes. My dragonship caught fire and merrily burnt almost to the waterline (but somehow survived the game), i lost a crew counter on one of my ships due to a critical hit blowing up the rum stores causing widespread drunkeness, and after playing some Benny Hill shenanigans with his Nautiluses (Nautili?) I eventually caught and boarded the last one - a resounding victory over the stunties!!

My opponent had been playing Distoptian Wars all morning before I arrived and reckons that for an old system, man o war is much more accessible and the rules easier to get to grips with - it was also a lot of fun!

Man O'War was before I got into wargaming (building models instead in my youth) - but those figures look very nice - and now want some too :?

A pity you had to sell them - but I know all too well the selling toys to pay bills pain.

Love Man-O-War ... bit counter heavy but otherwise terrific fun.
Always a treat to see nicely painted boats.
Thanks for posting ... must get back to mine and get another fleet done.

As you can see I very much went for copying the very bright colours of the era - liking your more subdued dark elves muchly, Thantsants! The dwarf camo actually looks pretty cool.
