A unit of High Helms

I just painted a unit of High Helms. They were a unit in 2nd edition but was also mentioned in 3rd. Then they were gone.

Maybe some think it is heresy but the units is mixed with the 6th edition plastic empire knight to make these knight more in line with my view on Empire knights. The ravening hordes say they are barded, so I swapped the original horses with barded horses. The musician is all plastic and have no highhelm parts and the champion just have a original sword arm. The rest is almost all high helm except for some shields, a lance and the standard.

I also added some greenstuff on some of the shields.

The colors was inspired from one of the pictures from 3rd edition Warhammer Armies.

As a self confessed 'Lead-head' I don't have a problem with plastic miniatures here or anywhere else, I can appreciate the time and effort goes into putting it on a table and playing the game; and at the end of the day, it's playing the game that counts. 8-)

They look fantastic, great colour scheme.

These are figures you don't see painted examples of very often...but your were worth the wait! Great job.

Thanks for sharing. I think you made the right choices with the non original parts. Because, besides playing the game, its the look that counts. ;)
