A slowly growing Waaagh!

Almost tired of precision painting on lesser elements, yet i don't feel i could stand rushing things up.
I've already given some plants from earthwork scenics a try...can't wait to dress the base up properly

Pray do share the amanita secret?
Once painted the mushroom, i put a big drop of satin varnish on it and sand a resin/plaster bit from above:the varnish captures some of the tiny white bits and if you're lucky enough it's done. In case the bits are too big or their pattern is not convincing, you can still make some adjustments with a brush and/or have another go.

Lovely. I think I should put more effort into my DIY mushrooms in the future, most of those on my bases are various resin ones I've got knocking around, but whenever I have some left over green stuff I roll it into a cone like shape and pop it on a spare bit of brass wire for future planting! Thinking maybe I should do a little more sculpting on them now.

Anyhow your mushroom technics are resulting in some fabulous fungi.

One of the parasols didn't survive the painting process...had to make another pair🙄

Have you tried the oliver spath/honorguard's ones? They're 3d printed and properly excellent, just like his animal sets.
Some of the ones above are his.
Even if they're listed as 32mm they're perfect for oldhammer minis (slotta based ones, at least)
Thanks for your appeeciation,btw🤗

Don't think so. the Resin ones I had were 3D printed and I know where some of them thick ones which grow on the edges of trees and rocks but that's not so good for basing stuff

I had to take a break from the mushroom farm and started adding some vegetable bits here and there

Better not thinking too much about the time spent on this😅
If i'm not mistaken, it's been 3 years since i found the warchicken artwork and decided to sculpt something similar.
The idea for the base was born last year and i properly started working on it last september

Younger me thought growing mushrooms was tedious...
Seasoned me has just discovered that painting and adding synthetic vegetation is the real nut-crusher
2nd pic shows a parasol mushroom that will fall from the poor sod's wicker basket
