Okay, we have talked about hated Figures in the past. I have a bit of a.. probably not hate but dislike of the Skaven 'Glave' (C47 number 15, Jes Goodwin 1986. Part of the original 19). Like I said, it's not a hate but a dislike to a point of kinda hating it when I get a bunch of Skaven in a job lot (been a little while now) and Oh look, Glave.. I got a few of him and there is just nothing you can really do with the figure. He is kinda plain and there are very little points of customisation to make him look much different. I've done a few (When I finally finish by getting the final figure or two for the one unit, I'll show a photo of that lot with a few Glaves in it) with some minor tweaks but.. its kinda just alot of the same with him. Sure that's true with alot of figures, but some you can do something more and some just blend in well.. he doesn't appear to. He stands out too much as a crowd filler, to little to make him a point of interest..
Anyway.. this isn't about Glave, which is why I haven't included a photo, But it's about this guy:

A Marauder MM42 Ogre originally sole as part of pact 2 and I'm currently painting one up, kinda simular to this catalogue shot. And even before I started to paint him.. I don't like him much. Its not a bad sculpt. It was either Trish or Ally Morrison back in 1989, but out of all the Ogres in the original normal size, he stands out the most cause.. He is just dressed as a standard guy. you might argue his boots give him a kinda fantasy feel but when you see the figure to see the trousers.. they are just a pair of jeans.. with the pockets and creases you would expect from the average Demin or the like jeans. And that's just a standard vest. If it wasn't for the slightly distorted head and being a bit bigger, he would just sit as a standard modern day guy. In fact, I'm sure some post apocalyptic or just modern day game he would fit right in without a second look.
Lets just look at the full picture of the rest of the line:

All of them look suitably fantasy APART from this guy. It's just weird.. And I got a couple of him ¬_¬
I really don't know what it is but.. this one really does stand out and kinda tricky to do anything with him to make him more fantasy short of sculpting work.. So.. I kinda hate the guy.
