A few bits

I started in 1981 and still play to 1st and 2nd ed (Senilehammer)

I was inspired by a painter named Andy Ritson, and dreamed of owning some of his stuff.

Last year, Andy gave me what remained of his collection, which had some superbly subtle conversions, all with their original 80s paintwork. I thought I might share them with you here:

Simply wonderful stuff, thank you for sharing this!

I love the Unicorn Man Broo and the 'Ice'? Sword that the Knight is holding in his right hand is great! What material is it made from, it doesn't look painted, it looks like perspex?

Cheers

Gary

Yes Gary, Andy carved it from perspex and wire wrapped the hilt. It was snapped when I took possession, hence the slight 'mist line' half way down.

Andy is a bit of legend to those in the know. It is rumoured that he was offered a job by GW and told them 'No thanks.' back when such a job would be highly prized.

And that's why I am proud to own these. The main reason that I became such a painter is down to the impression left on me by elder contemporaries such as Andy Ritson and Pete Armstrong (another GW old school veteran).

Every day as I sit in my studio and begin the day, I take a few moments to look at their work in my own cabinets.

Thanks Mark! Exceptional workmanship on that sword! I can imagine they inspire you, I'm inspired right now by looking at them online!

Thanks again for sharing!
