4th edition skaven,

Tramp

Serf
So, when I was around 10 years old a friend introduced me to the wonderful world of warhammer, in the circle of friends we all Sucked into the hobby, my friend 'the introducer' played lizard men, my friend no 2 played dwarfs, & friend number 3 played orks and goblins & I choose skaven (as I had a pet hamster). for the year or so that we were 'into' the hobby we did nothing but talk about warhammer, for us it was as much about the collecting as it was the playing. In reality we must have only played 3 or 4 games in total. As things go, we all sort of left the hobby behind at the same. I threw most of my minis in a toolbox and forgot about them, the few minis that weren't in my toolbox must have been discarded over the years as were the boxed games I had (blood bowl, advanced hero quest & WH40k)
So speed up 18 or so years, add kids, mortgage and all the other boring things that life demands of you and.... last year on holiday I walked into a shop and saw a couple of back issues of white dwarf for sale, on pure impulse I bought the magazine and spent the rest of the holiday reading & re-reading it. Whilst there I decided (that when I got home) I would crack my old collection out and repaint them, as I was never much of a painter,

So these were my existing 4th edition army

I also had a few other bits and bobs, you know the miscellaneous things you collect, for example a high elf bolt thrower, half a cold one, some nurglings. I also had a unit of monkey rats, unfortunatly they didn't survive the tool box storage as well as my leaded minis.

So I before I started re-painting my old minis, I thought I'd get some practice in some minis that didn't have the same sentimental meanings. Searching the World Wide Web I found a link to black tree designs, as I'm sure most of you know, BTD use the old harlequin castings from the 90's. I decided to buy a unit of ver'men clansmen these would hopefully give me some painting skills I could transfer on to my old minis,

I know my painting isn't fantastic but I liked the styles, so I ordered another unit, this time slaves (which I'm currently working through) & some other bits too like a ver'burna team,

I've also made a start on some of my older minis

Thanks for looking,

Always nice to see a fellow Skaven player out there.

Nice work and nice too some Halequin mini's in there, I too bulked out my horde with these for many a year.

Keep up the good work for the Under Empire
