40K 2d Ed - Squat Living Ancestors and Force Weapons

I've seen references to folks using a squat living ancestor with a force weapon in 2d Ed 40K. This seems not to be an option under the Black Codex.

So:

Is this house ruled?
Or based on Dark Millennium?
Or something more obscure like the squat army list in Inquisitor #15?

This is for an agreed-upon game of second edition.
But yes, I am a fan of RT and enjoy how there's a structure to stat up and assign a points cost to whatever one likes.

As someone who has fielded a living ancestor with a force weapon on a number of occasions, I'm fairly sure it was either due to a 'psykers only' wargear card (iirc Ancestor Lords may take 3) or a gentleman's agreement prior - I'm fairly sure it was the former.

I think your blog was at least one of the places where I had noticed this.
If a psyker's only wargear card, would seem to be from Dark Millenium, which makes good sense.
And you are correct that the ancestor lords (I used the wrong term, or maybe living ancestor is the RT term?) get three.

The Squat Army List in Inquisitor #15 says, "Squat Ancestor in Exo-armor can replace their Squat power axe with Force Sword, Force Axe, or Force Rod."

Because the list has no wargear cost for a force weapon, I suspect it is building on whatever Dark Millennium. Force weapons were wargear cards maybe?
