Thank you. I finished this one earlier this week. This is the second miniature I have painted since having a long break away from the hobby. Appreciate the comment, that's exactly what I was going for.nice. Doesn't look that old to me but that's just a comment, don't take it any way really.. ^_^; nice job, very much in the early 90s style
I didn't add the bolter. He was part of the 2nd edition command squad. Still got a couple of little details to finish off like the screen and the transfers. I'll feature him again at some point with all of his details finished and some scenery. I'm glad you like the colours.Very nice, so I'm guessing the slung bolter is an addition you added? Not one I remember, but whilst I did play some 2nd and 3rd 40K I was mostly doing WFB at the time. You've certainly nailed the colours of the period (including the base!). I think I'd be tempted to add something on the scanner screen - some kind of radar tracking grid or something in white and if not already (hard to tell) a little wash on the face to help bring out the details. Anyhow lovely start! It was the painting that drew me back into the hobby after a many many year hiatus, I still find myself being stupidly satisfied when I've finished a mini!
I have some 3rd edition transfers I'm planning to use on him, still have couple of little details to tidy up on him like his scanner buttons and screen and hair.Totally captures the 2nd Ed vibe! Just needs a crisp chapter logo and unit icon on the pads?
Have one to paint up for my Raptors (tho this project has taken a backseat for WFB plans for BOYL and a ToW campaign (and a Turnip28 regiment for TurnipCon in Nov…)).![]()
