2nd Edition Human Blood Bowl Team

Half of these were done around 5 years ago and were finished last year. One or two of them have had a head swap to avoid any doubles.

Stunning looking team! The strip looks great & the numbers are a nice finishing touch. Where is through head on the converted catcher from - do I recognise an old Space Marine head?

Thanks very much. Yeah you are right Axiom. It's a marine with plasma gun. Luckily I had two of him. The other two are linemen. One has the chainsaw wielding human's head and the other is a Bob Olley space pirate with a converted helmet.

So freakin' cool. Chainmail codpiece - why on earth would anyone want that? He seems to have a fear of being stabbed in the groin I suppose. I am quite jelly of your team.

Thanks Whitesun. Truth be told they are transfers that have been painted dark green and white surrounding. I had to remove studs and straps on some of them to accommodate the transfers. A bit of a cop out perhaps but I thought I'd try it.

Brilliant team, love it! Going the extra mile with the head swaps really works well, I think.
Also, brilliant use of the transfers, a nice tie-in with the stripe theme.
Showing these underappreciated Oldbowl sculpts some love - kudos!

Thanks very much Ti. Glad you like them. It's a simple kit but I was pleased with the way it went. Need to finish of my 2nd edition Orcs now. Just three to go to for the full 16. Got some head conversions to do there as well.

Sounds good, looking forward to seeing your orcs!
I enjoyed painting my greenskins for Blood Bowl simply because I didn't have to convert much for a change. Just clean the minis, base 'em and slap some paint on.
I wouldn't be keen on doing head-swaps on those orcs - their heads are all on their chests and way down between their shoulders. Getting them off without damaging the armor requires power tools imo and harvesting new heads from other orcs would ruin their torsos in turn. I'd appreciate a "how to" along with those conversions tbh.

You're right about the Orc heads. They may prove to be awkward to swap. I've done loads and loads of head swaps with humans but never an Orc. Keen to get one done now. I shall indeed post up a 'how to' and hopefully not a 'how not to' once I'm started.
I've had 13 painted for 10 years and I hope I can do the remaining 3 in the same way. Can't quite remember exactly how they were done but hopefully I'll get there.

Hang on! I tell a lie. I have done an Orc head swap. I did one of the Blitzers and gave him an Orc Wyvern rider's head and converted the helmet. Can't remember doing it now; it was so long ago. The Blitzer figures must be the hardest to convert due to the position they are in so hopefully the Blocker and Linemen will be a breeze in comparison. Will post the converted Blitzer up with the rest of the team when all complete.

Always nice to see 2nd edition Blood Bowl miniatures painted! The blockers are some of the best miniatures ever made for the game in my opinion.

Yeah I agree there, Horekim. There never seems to be enough painted examples of the 2nd ed humans out there either.
