Post: 2023 miniature painting in review…
This year has not been the greatest year for me. From the back end of 2022 my mum had a series of health setbacks which ultimately led to her passing in June of 2023.
Hence my necessary disappearance at the end of last year and absence for most of this year, bar a little and happy success at BOYL 2023. I really couldn’t find the time to paint and when I could I really didn’t feel like painting at all. I decided that because I’d started the BOYL project…I’d do my best to finish it and enter regardless. I almost didn’t attend but felt that Mum was urging me to keep going, even though I can tell you…the whole day was a bit of an out-of-body experience. I can’t remember most of it and, sort of drifted around.
Amazingly. I DID manage to WIN a category this year….admittedly it was a new category with only 3 entries, but still I was so humbled to win something and get recognised for my effort….made especially sweet given all that had gone on just a few weeks before…. I’ll take that!
Beyond that..I’ve painted bugger all this year. Here are some pics of what I managed to get over the line.
