1st/2nd/3rd Edition Warhammer Slann

I have always liked the Slann from when I first started collecting them in later 2nd Edition Warhammer. The mix of the Aztec/Inca/Maya Civlisation, coupled with the Von Daniken-equse background of aliens interfering with the universe, and it going wrong and them leaving them declining. And frogs, I like frogs too.

Anyway, I started collecting and gaming with Slann about 1987, and was the only Slann collector I knew of in my area (Sussex, UK), and had a sizable army during the later 2nd Edition and 3rd Edition years. Once 4th edition came along and the Slann of old were consigined to history, I kept them, and continued to pick up more odds and ends to finish specific units through the 1990's and 2000's, although I did swap 50 excess ones for some Chronicle Hobgoblins in about 1996.

The result is the army I have now. I still have a lot to paint, but plan to get them finished once I have completed my current project of painting up a 3,000 point army for each of the army entries in the Warhammer Armies book.

You two guys were meant to meet! I don't know of the whole rest of the forum can field enough Chaotic worshippers in fornt of your combined slaan forces but I'd love to see that happen !
 
I think Goblinlee has more actual figures of Slann, but mine are all pre-slotta; I also mix-in a horde of pre-slotta lizardmen, so, I might pip him on total numbers; but yes, it would be something to see - maybe next year at Nottingham - You available Lee?

Ahaw God,

Something else moving up the painting timetable, it'll have to wait until the Chaos types are done though (Christmas), otherwise I'll be looking at another half finished army, again. :lol: :lol: :lol:
