1980's White Dwarf Oracles

Hi

Wondering if any 1980's heads can help with a search...

I remember a build that featured in either White Dwarf magazine or possibly one of Citadels journals (early 1980's)

It was some kind of multi lever tower, with and arched skull doorway...

I know that's not much info to go on...just a punt

Do you happen to remember if it a diorama or a modelling guide?

As I recall it was a photograph of a completed model...

limited recollection however maybe 4 stories high...

the reason it comes to mind is it featured a citadel arched doorway...a came across the metal miniature doorway the other day & started searching for a picture of the project

If it's early 80s, it's not one of the Citadels journals. The first one was 1985. and if you are talking about guides / modeling workshop, It wasn't in WD. I'm pretty sure of that. Haven't got every issue of course but tried to make a fairly complete list of the modelling workshops up to a point and that is past the 80s. More likely to just be a photo of something someone else has built.

So that gave me the idea probably a Mike McVey diorama (not that he did the only ones but.. come on ^_^) problem is, you are looking mid to late 80s at the earliest.

For early 80s, it would have to be before issue 50 of WD, so we start to get in a more limited photo era.

Might have guessed we'd overlap! 63-67 are the only ones I've checked whilst cooking dinner. The file I got out is 40-67 so I'll work my way through those as Michael says - avoid duplication of effort (not that a second set of eyes is a bad thing!) Always fun flicking through some old WDs!

Damn beaten to it ... Was just about to post the possible finds as I'd worked back to #53 and had a couple of options (yes there is a skull doorway just about visible in that third one)
