1980's Citadel Journal/Compendium question.

I'm trying to track down all of the cardstock buildings that GW/Citadel put out in the 80's that didn't end up in Warhammer Townscape. I know of the ones from Lichemaster, McDeath and Orc's Drift, which I think were all printed in the Townscape book.

I'm pretty certain that there was a ruined monastery type building that was printed on the inside cover of one of the Citadel publications, either a journal or compendium, but it's obviously one I'm missing from my magazine collection.

Anyone got any ideas, or have I totally imagined it? Also, if anyone knows of any other buildings from that era, I'd be interested to know about them!

You didn't imagine it it was the Spring 86 Citadel Journal.
It went with a scenario in the Journal "Vengeance of the Lichemaster".

But what you really want to get hold of is "Blood on the streets" It was AKA Village pack two following the Lichemaster which was a box full of card buildings.

Thanks! I've actually got the model, but it's been built and painted (20-odd years ago!), and I couldn't remember where it came from, or whether it was a complete kitbash or not.

I'm pretty certain all of the buildings in BotS ended up in the Warhammer townscape book, which I've got already, I'm just trying to find the oddments that didn't end up in there.

HERE is some great detail on the scenario & the building itself that should be handy.

On another note, I thought there was at least one building or item that ended up in a WD in the '80s. I know there were scads printed in the '90s.

That's superb, many thanks! I can now repaint it with the correct graffiti!

I'll have a look through my old WD's, too, and see if there's one in there.

Here an exemple of the monastery assembled (without grafitti)
Print on paper and stick on card.

Bye Nico.

That'd be great! What do you use to flock those bases with?

Those are stunning Nico, very well done.

There were no card buidlings in White Dwarf in the 80s - they did some Talisman expansion cards, chainsaw warrior cards, a skaven bloodbowl team, but other than free advertising, WFB in general got very little coverage.

I use 3 different colors of flocks.
I planned to finish my Chaos Knights (pics/blog/etc...) this week and after that I post here all my secrets to build scenery (with pictures of course  )

Ha, aren't those Skulldred tiles I spy there in the monastery, Nico? =) I think it's the first time I see them being used somewhere. Nice touch! I've printed out a bunch of dungeon rooms and corridors for my self but so far they haven't been used in a game. I think they look great and hope Dave will do more of them.

Those are some really nice buildings!

I'll get some photos of my next project up soon, as I've just made a start on it, so there's not much to show so far!

That's glorious Nico!

You really hit it out of the park matching the classic card with more realistic debris & basing. Amazing!
Do you mount the original card onto sturdier stock prior to assembly? All the stuff I built in the '80s suffered from warping etc because the card was thin, but you don't seem to have any issues.

YES! pleaaaaaseee
I would like to know the kind of your print paper (how thick) and the kind of glue you use to stick it on the cardboard.
When I tried something like this or the glue was so dense that once dried you can see the drop through the surface of the paper, or I used a spray glue that after some time fades and the layer of paper falls off :(
