The Dark Lord of Hashut
As discussed here, I've been searching for ninja to complete my collection: https://forum.oldhammer.org/threads/round-iv-of-my-ninja-quest.13889/
Towards the end, I was on and off searching for the last I needed, this guy "Ran" or Grappling Hook 4 in White Dwarf and in the 1991 "Red Catalogue" https://archive.org/details/citadel...tures Catalogue Section Two/page/245/mode/2up
The other 47 ninja were quite a bit easier to find and it was just a matter of when time allowed. Not so much with "Grappling Hook 4."
In all my years of searching, I've never ran across him even once. The only place I've every seen him was in White Dwarf and on the Collecting Citadel Miniatures website: http://collecting-citadel-miniatures.com/wiki/index.php/File:OH1-46.jpg

Now, since he is on the Collecting Citadel Miniatures that means that at least one was out there for it to photographed "in the wild" so to speak.
But here is the really odd part. I finally found what I thought was one on eBay, but its a bit different: Games Workshop and Female Ninja on the tab; nearly the same pose and weapon. Now I know GW would do variant minis from time to time, but I've never even hear a whisper about this one.

This begs a few questions:
1. Just how rare is Grappling Hook 4? I've searched on and off for around 14 years and never seen him once.
2. Just what is the rarity of the female ninja in the same pose?
I've wondered if this is some sort of Nuln Spearmen situation with the Grappling Hook 4, but then found a variant instead. Odd to say the least. My only guess is this had to be mass release, but the numbers were never that high? And that might be for both of these two minis.
Kinda stumped on this as I've technically collected all 48 of them, or its it truly 49? Has anyone ever run across this female ninja before?
