I did think for a moment that the new kids civilian farmer model would win, but the classic Ruglud's soldier fella is coming in very strong now.
Welcome to the Golden Gobbo painting competition. If you'd like to read some of the ancient history you can on the Realm of Chaos 80s blog.
This competition is held some years and you'll find threads here describing how to enter and when the competition is running (typically after BOYL each year).
Other than the fame and wonderment of your peers there is often a prize kindly donated and you'll have the wonder of being awarded badges for your profile here.
Wow! Thank-you all who took part. For the inspiring selection of miniatures and for those that kindly sent a vote in the direction of my little skeleton.Well! That was a close run thing, but we have winners.
Congratulations @MichaelStockin !
Second place @Sneekid
Third place @MarvellousMinis
Of course everyone's entry was wonderful to see and having such a glorious paint job on your shelf is the true prize.
I’ve recently given home to a horde of Grenadier wood elves. They will, eventually(!), be painted as inspired by yours!Well done everyone! That was good fun, and great to see the broad range of old lead painted up.
Special thanks to Fimm for organising it all, and to the particularly discerning and enlightened three who voted for the Wardancer.
Last year we had 30 votes, year before 24. People do drop in and out of the forum for periods depending on real life. I think it's one of the attractions of the slightly less frantic pace forums run at compared to the Reddits and Facebooks of this world. The stats since we switched to XenForo would seem to indicate it's around that number. These are the weekly users:

Luckily for us we're not running on advertising income, but gamer love
Anyhow whilst you are thinking about vote counts what do people think about getting multiple votes to cast. Now the polls are simple so we're not talking ranking in any way (ie 1st choice, 2nd choice, etc), nothing complicated like that. You simply get several "votes" to cast as you see fit. So say we said you got three votes, you could vote for just one model, or you could vote for two or three models. You'd not be able to vote multiple times for a model.
I don't know it would skew things much, we'd probably end up with fewer cases were damn fine minis had no votes (which having been there is always a bit of a bummer, but then again I know there is no malice and there can be only one...) Hell there were several I wanted to vote for this year, bloody hard to choose just one.
Thoughts? Worth a try next year, stick with what we know?
