A bit of progress tonight getting some base layers down. I've gone for the more desaturated citadel paints in my collection rather than the brighter army painter ones that are my usual style, to try to make it more Oldhammer and fit the rest of the Oldschool miniatures gobbos. Right hand Gobbo should end up lighter than the left one, although the base colours weren't as different as I thought they were.
It's very much in the "it's looking awful and I hate it" phase that I go through with all my painting, which will last through the rest of the base coating and the first layer, and generally starts to fade with the first shading. Then there's normally first highlight, second shade, and final highlight. All interspersed with lots of tidying up of over-paints and splotches and accidents.... And I wonder why it takes me ages to paint anything!?
I am getting quicker and more accurate though.
