Thanks, I actually found the model quite dull compared to say Ranlac.
True I am not fully over the flu by a way, but it seemed to be less inspiring?

So I do love a bit of undead painting but am keen not to get distracted by even more projects (I know what I'm like) so I've managed to shoe-horn Deadcember into my very slow Lone Wolf progress. And unlike the fake orcs, sorry, giaks the Vordak is legit for Deadcember as they are 'hideous lieutenants of the Darklords and undead!'
I have fond memories of this guy as he killed me and my dad (separately) on our first reads when the lone wolf book 1 got brought home. I don't want to give away any spoilers but suffice to say there are no good options when you get to this guy, only least worse ones.
I have no idea why I put flock in front of his named base.... And the purple flame motive on his cloak looks more like purple leaves which wasn't quite the aim.... But at least my Giaks have someone to boss them around now!

It still seems an underwhelming model though.
Saying that I have Heinrich Kemmler next and I am worried that he will not be as cool as he should be.
That is nicely done, I especially like the milky eyes of the raven which make it clearly not right.

Last one for this month and also the final model in my undead force is done.
The astute may notice I removed some odd bits of casting from the staff that joined it to the body, I am not sure what they are meant to be and not wholly convinced they are meant to be there and not some sort of vent or something..

Yeah, that was the conclusion I came to in the end, but as you say, it looks ok without those bits and I actually prefer it.

a second deadcember contribution from me:
a celtos figure from brigade games.
he was a freebie from harrowing in the north this autumn.
whilst undoubtedly undead, i'm not convinced it's supposed to be a skeleton, however, that was what i required.

[Warfork Fantasy Battles] Skelliebob Bone Cart
From twine I added reigns, which I fed through a hole I drilled through the corner of the mouth. They were painted in Golden SoFlat Burnt Umber, then highlighted in Golden SoFlat Medium Orange and Golden SoFlat Light Orange.
The wood got a black oil wash to emphasize the wood grain and grooves between boards, the metals were treated with Dirty Down Rust and an orange oil wash.
The base was done in my usual style.

I think that is a great proxy for the original, and in many ways better.
It makes more sense as it looks like a bone cart would have looked, whereas so much undead stuff seems to be made of bones, which makes less sense.
The basing is superb, great vegetation and I always appreciate tracks/ruts in the mud.
