Slanni vehicles

Has anyone seen any good proxies for Slaani vehicles? Painting some old frogs but the miniatures are too expensive to buy up as a whole army, and I think they need a vehicle or two to be a viable unit.

They need vehicles? I always assumed the Slann just . . . existed wherever they want to at any given time. ;)

That's a very good questions. Red Bard Games has a jetbike in their line of space frogs that might work for you. It's 3D prints, so your mileage may vary. To my money digital sculpts more or less always look just a little too clean; too perfect. I have a few in spite of that, and Red Bard is about as Oldhammer as anything I've seen in the digital to printer realm.

On the other hand, I can't think of a better use of a deodorant stick tank than to reinforce a Slann unit.

According to Rogue Trader, "Slann use vehicles entirely of their own design, most of which are walkers or combined hoverers/flyers. As with weapons, the Slann maintain a vast reserve of vehicles which are available to those forming warbands."

Take that as you will. Obviously this wasn't reflected in the Citadel model range.

On a practical note, Slann personalities have a 90% chance of psychic powers and those can contribute a significant number of points using the rules on pages 58-60.

ohh now that is tricky but also gives you the most range as they are SOO undeveloped (every so often I've toyed with doing a small Space Skaven (with a better name) force but never come to anything that I would think is good (there are a couple of space rat figures, also also conversions)

Lets think.. what does the rule book say about Slann.. left over of the ancient race which has partly de-evolved like the fantasy version, some biology which... this is fantasy So I won't go into the problems there ^_^ masters of Psychic-philosophy and mystic-technology.

yeah.. they use Hoverer-flyer, Tracked or wide-wheeler machine or walkers..
Walkers put me in mind of Eldar War Walkers as a rough base of two legs with a cockpit. also makes me think of a Zentradi Regult which wouldn't be a surprise as GW probably used some around the studio for kit bashes as the model kits weren't amazing hard to find at the time. but you are gonna want a mixture of kinda magic powered technology.. kinda makes me think of some of Rodney Mathews designs.. like some of his designs for unreleased games like Haven: Call of the King or Liquid Matrix (you can find some on his site at: https://www.rodneymatthewsstudios.com)
(oh and technically Haven was released but they scrapped all of his stuff and made it very cut down and bland).

atleast he seams to have stopped conning people with 'NFC's which were all the rage with con-men for a while.. I don't think he meant to do anything wrong but just didn't know what was going on ^_^

You might get some interesting ideas by googling stuff like 'ancient aliens craft' 'anunnaki craft' '3I/Atlas craft' and other tin foil hat stuff.
If you find anything cool lemme know. I do love me some 'God is an Astronaut' stuff. 😆

Paul Wallis has done some good books on biblical 'paleocontact', Enoch and the Watchers etc. But that's a bit too Joe Rogan for a Slann thread. 😆. If anyone is into that Fox Moulder stuff feel free to hit me up in private messages, I can talk about that for days.

Back onto Slann, I believe the War in Heaven was based on the Hindu War in Heaven, so may be worth seeing what images may have funky craft in. I've yet to read the Bhavid Gita so I can't say if anything been mentioned, and I have loaned out my Book of Enoch so can't say what the Watchers ship looks like.

i can't comment on the 'good' part but i have a couple.
