Space Pirates and G.I.s

Here's my Rogue Trader Space Pirate army progress.

Pirate Captain.jpg
My pirate captain is menacing a prisoner/subordinate, which makes use of the model's raised fist pose. I really like the 'casualty' models from early 40k for use in mini dioramas like these.

Being a ragtag of different races, abhumans, mutants, and Imperial renegades, a pirate army can have some very unusual units. Currently I'm remodelling giants from the WFB series as GIs (Gigantic Infantrymen), the remains of an early Imperial genetics programme to create super soldiers.

Modelled on the 'Rogue Trooper' idea from 2000AD, these GIs are huge but dim, making them useful as heavy weapons platforms for an army that will struggle to fully maintain Imperial grade technology and vehicles purely through trade and plunder. Obviously, they need feeding, and while some prisoners will be sold as slaves, others... well...

Here's another casualty model being dragged off for dessert err... ransom...

This chap's considering whether to use his autocannon's bayonet as cutlery...

While I've got a long way to go with the GI's I've got a spare hand for the Perry giant and using weaponry from an Imperial Knight, I'll be outfitting him into a mini-Titan soon. The Goblin War-Giant model is being fitted out with a weapons platform to rival a Knight or a Predator/Land Raider.

More to follow!

Liking the green/blue of your Captain's outfit and I love the "giant" weapons platforms, great stuff. Pure old-stool! The Rogue Trooper blues are a good idea, I feel like I need to find something to try blue skin on ...

Female minis were more common for a while in the UK but then they kinda dropped back on them. You got female Space Marines in Rogue trader, then they just gave up on the idea etc.

you used to get the odd Female Orc and Goblin too.. these days if you get female non-humans like that, they have to just look human ¬_¬ I think have seen the odd female giant but they are like that.. just female humans, compared to the males which are more distorted and characterised. .. Don't want to pick on anyone but maybe @Taliesin Kincaid can share some light on if women just don't like to be caricatured in Minis..

yeah, I remember his amazons but, and no office, they do go into the 'just giant humans' side ^_^ which kinda makes sense for amazons but aren't really Giants in the same way as how male giants are.

Update on 'Big Blue' - now painted up more fully and kitted out with some Imperial Knight armour...

His lunch is more colourful and his equipment more complete...

And he's generally a bit brighter. I need to get him on a stand, finish the detailing and add a bit more armour.
