Personally, I think the Foundry great gun is really cool. You can get the gun on its own and convert your crew from proper Oldhammer figures, or try and find crew individually on ebay which would definitely be cheaper. There's also the old C46 Men-at-Arms artillery crew that Foundry have.

They always looked a bit stone throwery to me, what with the hammers and wooden levers etc..
I like gun, just not so keen on the carriage, I prefer the ones that look split, like on the other one.

To be fair, these crew are great:
Better than the ones that come with the 4th edition cannon.
But £16.00 and I only need 3 of them...
If I could find a metal 4th edition cannon for a tenner and then these, maybe.
Or a 4th edition cannon for £15.00 and just three of these for a tenner...
